Stunning Black Painted Vintage Writing Bureau /Desk in Farrow and Ball Off Black

Who wouldn't want to work from home on this stunning vintage writing bureau / writing desk?! It benefits from three drawers externally and a beautiful pull down desk. Inside there are two further small drawers and storage compartments. This striking desk is well proportioned and houses the original lock and key still working together with the original brass drawer handles which I have hand cleaned and polished by hand. The bureau has been carefully sanded, restored and cleaned and has been hand painted externally in Farrow & Ball's timeless deep and dramatic 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell. Modern Eggshell is a satin 40% sheen, not a matt or chalky finish. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.

Condition:

This piece is in very good condition with no damage to note apart from the minor dents and imperfections which are to be expected with the age of this antique piece and adds to its character. Locks can seize and drawers may stick on occasion; these are part of the charm of antique pieces of furniture. If you're looking for a brand new pre-fabricated item in mint condition then my pieces aren't for you! If you are, however, looking for a unique, one-off antique or vintage piece with charm, character and a story to tell then you've come to the right place! I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergo a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 3/4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic - they will distress naturally over time with general wear and tear.
