Antique Painted Writing Bureau / Writing Desk in Farrow and Ball Off Black

Description:

A beautiful antique hand made bureau / writing desk, probably dating to 1930's. It sits on carved legs with two drawers and internally has storage compartments along with a further small drawer. There are brass desk supports inside the desk and I have fitted a brand new replacement antiqued leather writing pad. This desk is well proportioned and is in very good order with brass handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand (not painted over or replaced!) and a lock and key for the writing slope also still working. It has been carefully sanded and restored and has been painted in Farrow & Ball's timeless 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell. I have lined the drawers with an ebony damask paper. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a home office, hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.
 
Condition:
 
This piece is in very good condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. The antiqued leather writing pad is brand new, having been replaced by myself. Unfortunately the key to the drawers has been previously lost. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish.

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode.  I offer delivery to ground floor / doorstep depending upon your COVID Tier and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully blanketed service to Mainland UK for a small surcharge.  To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe if you are located outside of this radius.
