Antique Victorian Painted Mahogany Carved Sideboard in Farrow and Ball Off Black

Description:

A beautiful antique Victorian mahogany lockable sideboard with two drawers and double cupboard below with carved doors. The drawers feature the original brass pull handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand (not painted over or spray painted!). I have lined the inside of the drawers with an ebony damask patterned paper and externally the cabinet has been carefully prepared and lovingly painted in Farrow and Ball's dark and sophisticated 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell which is very flattering to adjacent colours and is much softer than traditional black. I have also painted the back, base and shelf inside the cabinet in Off Black. A stunning focal point in a dark, dramatic dining room or drawing room.

Condition:

The sideboard is in excellent condition for its vintage age and there is no damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces. On the left hand side of the cabinet there is a large knot which is a natural occurrance in the grain of wood and in fact adds to the character of this piece. This can be seen in one of the photos.

I’m not a ‘furniture flipper’; I don’t turnover large quantities of quickly refinished pieces; I spend huge amounts of time and care and on each piece and pour parts of my soul into each item. I specialise in refinishing vintage and antique furniture and I spend hours hand picking each of my pieces locally and I don’t sell anything that I wouldn’t have in my own home. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint and call it upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of preparation, and restoration being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if there are any signs of historic woodworm, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. I don't distress my pieces, they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.

    I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. To avoid disappointment please double check the dimensions and the colour / finish before making your purchase and please do get in touch should you require any further information or clarity.

    Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

    Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

    Shipping:

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode. I offer delivery to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date.  If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery within Mainland UK via a third party courier for a small surcharge.  To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe.  Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
