Antique Burr Walnut and Painted Black Ladies Bureau / Fall Front Writing Desk
A stunning lockable antique hand made burr walnut and painted fall front ladies bureau / writing desk on carved legs, dating probably from the early 1900's. The desk is fitted internally with pigeon holes and there are brass supports inside the desk which open automatically once the desk is opened and there are three drawers beneath the desk, each with the original cherub putti handles which I have finished with gilding wax. The bureau has been carefully sanded, primed and painted in Farrow & Ball's deep and dramatic 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell and I have refinished the walnut veneers with lacquer to enhance the wonderful rich colours and patterns of the natural walnut. A fabulous addition to a home office, hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.

Condition:
A real beauty, this piece is in very good condition with no major damage apart from some minors scuffs and marks which are to be expected with a piece of this age. The desk is lockable, but it has warped slightly out of shape over the years, meaning the right hand side does not close fully flush at the very top, but in my opinion this does not hinder the desk in any way. I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
SHIPPING INFO
I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode. Delivery is to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge. To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe if you are located outside of this radius. Third party courier service is for a one man service to ground floor and assistance is required with unloading. Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
