Handsome Painted 1930's Armoire/Wardrobe in Farrow & Ball Off Black
A stunning lockable oak veneered armoire / wardrobe dating probably from around 1930's. Inside there is a hanging rail, a shelf and three coat hooks and externally it has a lovely carved detail across the front along with the original stunning brass handle and lock escutcheon which I have cleaned and gilded with gilding wax. It has been carefully sanded, restored and painted in Farrow and Ball's timeless and dramatic 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell and would be a stylish and handy storage addition to a bedroom or landing.
Condition:
This piece is in excellent condition with no damage to note apart from the minor age related nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. The door unlocks and the spring latch open and close with ease and the interior is in good condition and it is clean and tidy. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of four coats to ensure a high quality finish.
