Large Georgian Style Mahogany Painted Sideboard in Farrow and Ball Off Black

Description:A beautiful large vintage mahogany Georgian style serpentine fronted lockable sideboard on tapered legs with two drawers flanked by two cupboards, each with a shelf. The top drawer features a handy lined cutlery tray which slides backwards and forwards inside the drawers, and the shelf in one of the cupboards is conveniently shaped to enable full size bottles to be stored and locked away. The cabinet features the original brass handles and lock escutcheons which I have cleaned and polished by hand (not painted over or spray painted!). Externally it has been carefully prepared and lovingly painted in Farrow and Ball's dark and sophisticated 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell which is very flattering to adjacent colours and is much softer than traditional black. A stunning focal point in a dark, dramatic dining room or drawing room.Condition:The sideboard is in excellent condition for its vintage age and there is no damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces. The style of these doors means that occasionally they can stick if the sideboard is not level and the easiest way to prevent sticking is to put a small wedge under the back leg(s). I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint and call it upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of preparation, and restoration being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if there are any signs of historic woodworm, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. I don't distress my pieces, they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.

    I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. To avoid disappointment please double check the dimensions and the colour / finish before making your purchase and please do get in touch should you require any further information or clarity.

    Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

    Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

    Conditions of return

    Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode. I offer delivery to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date.  If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery within Mainland UK via a third party courier for a small surcharge.  To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe.  Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
