Mid Century Linen Cupboard/Tall Boy by Herbert E Gibbs in Farrow & Ball Dowpipe
Description:
A handsome mid century painted linen cupboard / tallboy by Herbert E Gibbs Cabinet Maker, labelled catalogue no. 256. With three drawers and double cupboard and a lift up top with mirror and a further storage compartment. It has the original brass handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand (not painted over or replaced!) and it has been carefully sanded and painted externally in Farrow and Ball's dark and dramatic 'DownPipe' Modern Eggshell. I have lined the drawers with a beautiful ebony damask paper. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a bedroom or landing as a linen cupboard or tallboy.
Condition:
This piece is in good condition with no major damage to note apart from some water damage to the veneer on the top of the cabinet, visible in the last picture. There are other minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergo a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic; they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.

Request a cancellation within: 2 days of purchase. Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £25 to cover card merchant service and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture)

I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode. Delivery is to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge. To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe.
