Mid Century 1950’s Upcycled Chest of Drawers in Farrow and Ball OffBlack

A stunning Mid Century four drawer chest of drawers by Astons of Wrexham with simple wave design showing signs of a Scandinavian influence and ornate brass drawer pull handles which I have cleaned and lovingly polished by hand (not painted over or spray painted!).  It has been carefully sanded, prepared and beautifully painted in Little Greene Paint Co's dark and dramatic 'Basalt Blue' Intelligent Satinwood and I've lined the drawers with an Ebony Damask style paper.  A stunning piece for any characterful bedroom.

This piece is in excellent condition and there is no damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces.  It is clean and tidy and the drawers open and close with ease. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy restoration and preparation process before being stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if required, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish.Description:A lovely Mid Century four drawer bow fronted chest of drawers with ornate brass drawer pull handles which I have cleaned and lovingly polished by hand (not painted over or spray painted!). A stunning piece for any characterful bedroom.Condition:This piece was in a poor state when I found it with the veneer on both sides badly damaged and the handles mismatched. I’ve tried to retain as much of the original veneer as possible however there is still evidence of the prior damage and this is reflected in the price. Please photos for details. The top of the unit and the drawer fronts are in lovely condition and I’ve refitted them with a salvaged set of ornate mid century brass handles. I personally feel the chest drawers is a lovely piece full of character.I’m not a ‘furniture flipper’; I don’t churn out large quantities of quickly refinished pieces; I spend huge amounts of time and care on each piece and pour parts of my soul into each item.
