Painted 1940's Gentleman's Wardrobe by Shrager in Farrow and Ball Railings

A handsome antique vintage painted oak veneered Gentleman's compactum wardrobe by Shrager Masterpiece Furniture, dating probably from the 1940's.  It is a well made piece, with original brass handles which I have cleaned and polished and inside it has three shelves to the right of a pull out hanging rail.  The Shrager label can be found inside the door, with a second label on the reverse of the cabinet. I have carefully stripped, restored and professionally painted the cabinet in Farrow and Ball's dramatic blueish black ‘Railings' Modern Eggshell.  With its bluer undertones, Railings is a softer alternative to black and on this piece looks stunning. It  would be a fabulous one-off statement piece for a bedroom or landing for additional storage space.
 
Condition:
 
This piece is in good condition with no major damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character.  There is some bubbling to the veneer to the top of the cabinet which can be seen in the photos.  The doors open and close with ease and it is a clean and tidy piece.  In terms of the finish I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before professionally painting a minimum of 5 coats of genuine Farrow and Ball Eggshell to ensure a high quality finish.  My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic; they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.
