Painted 1940's Lebus Bedside and Wardrobe Set; Farrow and Ball Off Black

A stunning 1940's CC41* Bedside and Wardrobe by Harris Lebus. The wardrobe has two hanging rails and the door has the original stunning brass door handle and carvings on the door. It is in very good order, with original lock and key working. It is a lovely and light piece which makes it easy to transport to an upstairs bedroom. The bedside cabinet is complete with door and a shelf above for storage. The 'Two Cheeses' Utility Furniture Stamp which dates post war furniture can be found on the reverse of both pieces, along with the original Harris Lebus stamps. Each of the pieces have been carefully sanded, restored where required and professionally painted in Farrow and Ball's timeless and dramatic 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell and they would be stylish one off storage additions to a bedroom or landing.

*CC41 was the Utility Fashion and Furniture brand for strong well-designed furniture manufactured in the UK during the period 1941-1951 post World War II following a furniture shortage due to bombing, and pieces from this period are considered collectables.

Condition:

The set is in very good condition and there is no major damage to note apart from the customary age related minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces. Each piece is in a lovely clean condition having been fully cleaned inside.
