Painted 1940's Oak Linen Cupboard by Fyne Ladye in Farrow and Ball Downpipe
A handsome antique vintage CC41 painted oak linen cupboard / tallboy by Fyne Ladye dating from 1940's with beautiful reeded front corners and the stunning original handles which I have cleaned and protected with Danish oil. The CC41 stamp can be seen on the reverse and the Fyne Ladye label in the top drawer. The cabinet has been carefully sanded, restored and painted externally in Farrow and Ball's dark and dramatic 'DownPipe' Modern Eggshell and it would be a fabulous addition to a bedroom or landing as a linen cupboard, but equally could be used as a drinks cabinet.
Condition:
This piece is in very good condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. There are some minor marks / stains on the top shelf, which can be seen in the video and the final photograph. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergo a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic; they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture. Check out my 5 star reviews on Etsy and Vinterior since 2016.
