Beautiful Painted Vintage Ladies Walnut Bureau Desk on Cabriole Legs in Farrow & Ball Sulking Room Pink

Description:

A beautiful lockable vintage walnut fall front bureau / writing desk on long cabriole legs fitted internally with storage compartments and small drawer and a further drawer beneath the desk. It is in lovely condition with the original brass handles and escutcheon which I have cleaned and polished by hand and the original lock and key still working well. The desk has been carefully sanded and restored and has been hand painted externally in Farrow and Ball's muted dusky rose 'Sulking Room Pink' Modern Eggshell and on this piece looks stunning. A fabulous addition to a hallway, home office, landing or indeed any contemporary room.

Condition:

A real beauty, this piece is in excellent condition with no major damage and the original writing leather, which is in good condition with just a few minor scuffs. The drawer and desk open and close with ease. There are minor marks and sign of previous use inside the drawers and desk but this is to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and I feel adds to their character. I've thoroughly cleaned and polished the drawers and desk inside. In terms of the external finish I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. I also apply a lacquer to high traffic surfaces for extra durability.

    I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. To avoid disappointment please double check the dimensions and the colour / finish before making your purchase and please do get in touch should you require any further information or clarity.

    Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

    Conditions of return

    Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

  • SHIPPING INFO

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode.  Delivery is to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge. To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe if you are located outside of this radius.  Third party courier service is for a one man service to ground floor and assistance is required with unloading.  Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
