Painted Vintage Mid Century Art Deco Gentleman's Armoire / Tallboy
Description:
This is a stunning vintage art deco oak Gentleman's Armoire / tallboy / linen cupboard. It stands on simple carved feet and benefits from a double cupboard with the original brass handles and push button to open and close. Unfortunately the lock is no longer working and the key missing, but internally it has shelves, a hanging space and a tie holder. I have lined the base with a beautiful damask paper and cleaned and polished the curved handles. The cabinet has been carefully sanded, restored and hand painted externally in Farrow and Ball's dark and dramatic 'Down Pipe' Modern Eggshell. Down Pipe is a dark lead grey with definite blue undertones to it which deepen the complexity of the finish. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a bedroom, hallway or landing.
Condition:
This piece is in excellent condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. We don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on our pieces and call them upcycled - each of our pieces undergo a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 3/4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. Our pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic, however they will naturally distress over time with normal wear and tear, like all furniture.

We offer delivery to ground floor only and we shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of our 100 mile radius, we would be delighted to arrange delivery via our furniture courier with a fully blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge.
