Stunning Vintage Mid Century Lebus Painted Blue/Grey Chest of Drawers
Description:
This is a stunning 1950's well made five drawer chest of drawers by Harris Lebus. It has a nice simple style, with a Scandinavian influence. The drawer handles are the original brassware which I have cleaned and polished and the chest has been carefully restored, prepared and beautifully hand painted in Farrow & Ball's dark and dramatic 'Down Pipe' Estate Eggshell and on this piece looks stunning. Internally I have lined the drawers with a beautiful damask paper. Down Pipe is a dark lead grey with definite blue undertones to it which deepen the complexity of the finish. Originally inspired by the colour used to paint downpipes and guttering, it has been embraced for use inside the home with fanatical zeal! The chest of drawers would be a fabulous addition for any contemporary bedroom.
Condition:
This piece is in very good condition and there is no major damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces. We don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on our pieces and call them upcycled - each of our pieces undergo a lengthy restoration and preparation process before being stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if required, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 3/4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. We don't distress our pieces, they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.
