Beautiful Vintage Grey Painted Writing Bureau / Secretaire / Writing Desk in Farrow and Ball Downpipe Office Storage.

Who wouldn't want to work from home on this beautiful solid and heavy vintage writing bureau / writing desk complete with the original leather skiver writing pad?! It benefits from four drawers externally and a drop down desk with supports which open manually.
Inside the desk is fully fitted with two further small drawer, cupboard and storage compartments and a leather writing pad. This stunning desk is well proportioned and houses the original lock with key still working together with the original brass drawer handles which I have hand cleaned and polished to restore the original gleaming beauty. The bureau has been carefully sanded, restored and cleaned and has been hand painted externally in Farrow & Ball's timeless and daringly dark 'Downpipe' Estate Eggshell. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.

Condition:

This piece is in excellent condition with no damage to note apart from the minor dents and imperfections which are to be expected with the age of this antique piece and adds to its character. Part of the beading is missing from third drawer down. The leather pad is original and looks to have barely been used. I have thoroughly cleaned the desk and drawers and they are in good clean and tidy condition and open and close with ease.

I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic - they will distress naturally over time with general wear and tear. Modern Eggshell is a durable finish, however I also apply two coats of lacquer to high transit surfaces for additional protection.

    I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. To avoid disappointment please double check the dimensions and the colour / finish before making your purchase and please do get in touch should you require any further information or clarity.

    Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

    Conditions of return

    Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

  • SHIPPING INFO

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode.  Delivery is to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge. To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe if you are located outside of this radius.  Third party courier service is for a one man service to ground floor and assistance is required with unloading.  Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
