Vintage Mid Century Lebus Painted Blue Chest of Drawers

Description:

This is a stunning 1960's Harris Lebus well made three drawer chest of drawers. It has a nice simple style, with a few subtle flourishes such as the carved detail on the legs showing a Scandinavian influence. The drawers are fitted with the fabulous original brass drawer pull handles which I have cleaned and lovingly polished. The chest has been carefully restored, prepared and beautifully hand painted in Farrow & Ball's timeless deep and dramatic 'Hague Blue' Modern Eggshell and on this piece looks stunning. I have lined the drawers with a stunning dark damask paper. Modern Eggshell is a satin 40% sheen, not a matt or chalky finish. The chest of drawers would be a fabulous addition for any contemporary bedroom.

Condition:

This piece is in excellent condition and there is no damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique and vintage pieces.  Locks can seize and drawers may stick; these are part of the charm of antique pieces of furniture. If you're looking for a brand new prefrabricated item in mint condition or a fine antique then my pieces aren't for you! If you are, however, looking for a unique, one off antique or vintage piece with charm, character and a story to tell then you've come to the right place! I don't just slap on a coat of chalk paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy restoration and preparation process before being stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if required, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 3/4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic; they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.
