Vintage Painted Blueish Black Bureau on Cabriole Legs in Farrow & Ball Railings
An elegant hand made lockable vintage walnut veneered ladies bureau / writing desk with two drawers sitting on beautiful cabriole legs. Internally it is fully fitted with pigeon holes, a small drawer and leather writing pad, along with brass desk supports which open automatically when the desk is opened. I have cleaned and polished the ornate handles by hand to make them pop! The bureau had been painted in white in a previous life and has been carefully stripped, sanded and restored and professionally painted in Farrow & Ball's deep and dramatic 'Railings' Modern Eggshell and on this piece looks stunning. Railings takes its name from wrought ironwork and is more blue than black and softer alternative to black. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a home office, hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.
Condition:
This piece is in very good condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous age related repairs which are to be expected with pieces of this age and adds to their character. The writing pad is original and shows some minor age related marks; please contact me if you'd like to see detail photos of this. The drawers open and close with ease and the desk also locks and unlocks easily.

I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats of genuine Farrow and Ball eggshell to ensure a high quality finish.

Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

Vintage and antique furniture rarely dismantle for delivery and it is the responsibility of the customer to check the dimensions against their access points in advance of purchase. In the event that the buyer has measured incorrectly and a failed delivery occurs the full cost of third party courier charge will be paid by the customer along with the following charges:

Card merchant service refund and admin fee £50
Delivery handling fee (for packaging) £15
Damages to item if not returned in the same condition
For upholstered items it is the customers responsibility to request fabric samples.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
- Custom or personalised orders
- Perishable products (like food or flowers)
- Digital downloads
- Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
- Items on sale
Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
SHIPPING INFO
My third party courier delivers furniture throughout Mainland England & Wales for a flat fee of £59.
Delivery to Mainland Scotland (excluding Highlands) is charged at a flat fee of £89.
For deliveries to the Scottish Highlands, and other remote areas, please contact me for a quote.
All deliveries are subject to a handling fee of £15
