Vintage Painted Bureau / Writing Desk / Secretaire on Cabriole Legs
Description:
An elegant hand made bureau / writing desk, probably dating to 1930's. It sits on long cabriole legs with ball and claw feet and has three drawers. Internally it has storage compartments along with a further two small drawers, and a brand new leather writing pad with desk supports inside the desk which open automatically when the desk is opened. The desk is well proportioned and is in very good order with the original brass handles which I have cleaned and polished by hand (not painted over or replaced!) and the original locks and key for the writing slope and drawers also still working. It has been carefully sanded and restored and has been painted in Farrow & Ball's timeless 'Off Black' Modern Eggshell. This piece would be a fabulous addition to a home office, hallway, dining room, landing or indeed any contemporary room.
Condition:
This piece is in very good condition with no damage to note apart from the minor nicks, dents and previous repairs which are to be expected with vintage and antique pieces and adds to their character. The leather writing pad is brand new, having been replaced and fitted by myself. I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergoes a lengthy process of restoration and preparation before being painstakingly stripped, cleaned, restored, woodworm treated if there is any sign of historic woodworm, primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish.

I do accept returns under certain circumstances, however I do not accept returns if you decide on receipt of your item that the size isn't right or doesn't suit your space, or if the colour isn't as you expected. Cancellations are subject to a cancellation charge of £50 to cover card merchant services and admin fees. If a courier has been booked and paid for the full cost of delivery charge will be paid by the customer (courier charges are 50% subsidised by Yellow Pigeon Bespoke Furniture):

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs and arranging courier. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode. I offer delivery to ground floor / doorstep depending upon your COVID Tier and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully blanketed service to Mainland UK for a small surcharge.
