Vintage Upcycled CC41 Chest of Drawers in Farrow and Ball Down Pipe - Bedroom St

Description:

A lovely CC41 five drawer chest of drawers dating from the 1940's with the original brass drawer pull handles which I have cleaned and lovingly polished by hand (not replaced or painted over!). The wartime CC41 logo can be seen on the reverse in the photograph. The chest has been carefully restored, prepared and beautifully painted in Farrow & Ball's dark and dramatic 'Down Pipe' Modern Eggshell and on this piece looks stunning. Down Pipe is a dark lead grey, with definite blue undertones to it which deepen the complexity of the finish. Originally inspired by the colour used to paint downpipes and guttering, it has been embraced for use inside the home with fanatical zeal. Internally I have lined the drawers with a fabulous ebony damask paper. A fabulous one off vintage addition for any contemporary bedroom or hallway!

Condition:

This piece is in very good condition and there is no damage to note apart from the customary minor knocks, dents and cracks which are to be expected with antique pieces.  I don't just slap on a coat of chalk or mineral paint on my pieces and call them upcycled - each of my pieces undergo a lengthy restoration and preparation process before being stripped, cleaned, woodworm treated if required, and primed and undercoated before painting a minimum of 4 coats to ensure a high quality finish. My pieces aren't distressed or shabby chic; they will naturally distress over time with general wear and tear, like all furniture.

    Contact me within: 14 days of delivery

    Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery

    Request a cancellation within: 2 days of purchase.  Cancellations are subject to a £25 charge to cover card merchant services and admin fees.

    Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

    Conditions of return

    Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

  • SHIPPING INFO

    I aim to provide a personal service as far as possible and I am pleased to offer free delivery with this piece in person via our own 'Pigeon Post' with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service to 100 mile radius of SY7 8QG postcode.  Delivery is to ground floor and I shall be in touch directly after your purchase to arrange a suitable delivery date. If you are located outside of my 100 mile radius, I would be delighted to arrange delivery via a third party furniture courier with a fully bubble wrapped and blanketed service within Mainland UK for a small surcharge. To avoid disappointment please contact me with your post code for an indicative quote and timeframe if you are located outside of this radius.  Third party courier service is for a one man service to ground floor and assistance is required with unloading.  Alternatively I live in Shropshire and collection can be arranged if preferred.
